Used safely and effectively for many years by ophthalmologists to treat eyelid and muscle spasm. Botox is an approved medical protein which effects a process known as Cosmetic Denervation. Its effectiveness having been proven, it is now increasingly being used to reverse the signs of visible ageing.
What is Botox used for?
Every time we smile, laugh or frown, dynamic wrinkles are created by the contractions in our delicate facial muscles. Over time these contractions leave us with what we know as frown lines, crow’s feet and laughter lines by blocking impulses to the nerves from our tiny facial muscles, temporarily relaxing them, therefore inhibiting contraction.
Botox softens the appearance of these lines. While the untreated muscles react in a normal way allowing facial expressions to remain unaffected, the skin itself remains smooth and unwrinkled. The improvement can be surprisingly dramatic.
This excellent and inexpensive treatment achieves superb results, and is ideal for the removal of frown lines, crow’s feet, laughter lines and forehead creases.
How long does the Treatment Take?
Each treatment takes approximately thirty minutes.
How long will the treatment last?
Depending on the individual, results can last up to 6 months. However there is evidence to suggest that the muscles eventually retrain themselves, so that less frequent treatments will be required over time.
In Summary
Non-Intrusive and painless, Botox is administered through a tiny micro needle so fine that it produces minimum discomfort. Treatment may be carried out immediately since no test patch is required. Normal activities can be resumed immediately after treatment.
There is some evidence that people who suffer from migraine have, after receiving Botox treatment, experienced a vast improvement in their condition.
Please note that flying is not recommended for up to three days after treatment.
